What Is The Best Protein Bar?
How To Pick The Best Protein Bar
The first step in choosing the best protein bar for you is to ask the question, “What is the outcome?”
Protein bars work great for some people. They are super convenient, they sustain them, and they are used correctly as a bridge to the next meal.
For other people, however, protein bars cause sugar cravings, leave people hungry, and one bar never does it for them. Four or five bars later they regret eating the first one, or they are so hungry by the next meal they have a hard time controlling their portions.
Nearly all protein bars use a substitute sugar. Some of the sugar substitutes work a little differently from each other. Maltitol, for example, can seem like real sugar to the body creating more of an insulin spike than one like Stevia or Monk Fruit.
The sugar alcohols and high fiber ingredients can wreak havoc on a digestive system causing bloating, gas, and even diarrhea.
The best protein bar for you can only be found through trial and error.
Ask these questions:
Did it sustain me until the next meal?
Did I like the taste?
Did my body digest it without any issues?
Does it lead me closer or farther away from my fitness goals?
